Choices, Choices, Choices

How do you select the company that’s right for you? With the variety of products and programs and companies in the industry today, it’s difficult to know where to start.
Start with the product!
- What type of products do you use?
- What products do you love?
Surprisingly, more people are drawn to a company by its products than its compensation program. When you fall in love with your product and truly believe in its benefits, you can sell it! And... when you truly believe in your company and its opportunity, it’s easy and fun to share it!
Do your homework. Find out as much information about your potential company as is available.
- How long have they been in business?
- What is their mission statement?
- What type of training is available?
Speak with representatives and find out what they love most about the company and its products and programs. A happy, productive sales force usually means a solid, stable company. Learn about their programs, i.e., hostess program, consultant start-up program, etc. Evaluate your goals and analyze whether or not it will fit into your lifestyle.
Make a commitment. Once you have decided upon a company, give it your all! Follow the program, take advantage of every possible resource, and decide from the outset to do your absolute best (take the words "I’ll just see what happens..." out of your vocabulary!)
Learn as much as you can about the products. Read the manual, watch the video, attend local meetings (if applicable), observe shows and practice your presentation. Then book and hold as many shows as you possibly can in your first two weeks to get the best possible start.
Surround yourself with positive, supportive people, and be patient... success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes perseverance and daily productive action to lay the foundation for positive results.
